A few years ago our principal encouraged our staff to build websites for our classrooms to establish communication with our students and parents. You must have heard my head spinning across the country. I was so computer senseless at the time I wasn't aware of the meaning of “booting up” the computer. I was determined that I wasn't going to be the "mature" teacher on staff that couldn't figure it all out! I spent that entire summer for a period of eight hours a day doing just that! I was stubborn enough to be persistent until I taught myself html coding and the ends and outs of website building. The results are the website that I now am so proud of. Through the trials and errors of building this site I have acquired great admiration for all teachers who spend time building sites for their students. I certainly know first-hand the time and dedication it takes to build and create a site. It is exactly for that reason I created this website award. It is specifically for classroom websites that display the following criteria.
*Your site must be created, designed and maintained by you the classroom teacher.
*Your site must be updated regularly, original, creative and eye-appealing.
*Your site should be informative for parents, students, and a good example for other teachers.
*Your site should be user friendly and easy to navigate.
*Your site should provide meaningful educational content and not just links to other sites.
*Your site should give credit for graphics either on a graphic page or individually on each page.
*Your site should have a no right click code installed on each and every page.

I would love to hear from you!
To nominate your site please e-mail me with the name of your site, your name, the grade you teach and your website URL. Place "BEE"-utiful Website Award in the Subject Box. I can't wait to visit your wonderful sites. Keep up the hard word teachers.
